2AcceptMagnificent FrigatebirdWilsonAnn Briceann.brice@gmail.com9/3/2016rnflying over residentail neighborhood, at Kenan St and West End Ave.Saw on the trailing edge of tropical storm Hermine. Was flying just above the treetops. Had an obvious forked tail. Immediately thought swallow-tail kite but the wings were not straight and the shape of the bird didn't seem right. The shape of the wings seemed more gull-like. Could not see any color. Checked field guide for other possibilities. The frigatebird wings matched as well as the forked tail.ViewYes2016-09-03 11:54:370000-00-00 00:00:00

It was calling, I did not recognize call note, I pished it into view and was surprised it was a Marsh wren. Good views, white eyestrip dark brown body, white markings on back, all the field marks eliminated house and carolina wren. Only other record I have for this property was back in autumn of 1988, that bird was in grasses on pond dam.2011-11-23 21:44:260000-00-00 00:00:00
