| General Comments | This West Indies pigeon species ranges north only to the Florida Keys and adjacent mainland as a regular breeder, and there are very few records north of that state. Thus quite a surprise was one photographed on a powerline wire, with Mourning Doves, at Carolina Beach (New Hanover) on 31 Dec 2022 [Chat 87:34 link]. The report and photos will be reviewed by the NC BRC. If accepted, this will become the first state record. | ||||||
