General Comments Accidental. There are two state records of the Buff-bellied Hummingbird, which nests in the United States only north to southern Texas. One was seen and photographed at a feeder near Oriental (Pamlico), 21-23 Oct 2007* (N.A. Birds 62:55); [Chat 72:7-10 link]; [Chat 74:38-39 link]. Another was seen and photographed at several feeders/yards in Winston-Salem (Forsyth), from 22 Sep 2015 to 6 Mar 2016* [Chat 80:14 link], [Chat 80:41 link], [Chat 80:118 link].
