General Comments
This Eurasian shorebird is accidental along the North Carolina coast; there is one documented record (with photos), a bird in partial breeding plumage at Cape Hatteras Point from 13-17 May 1987* (Chat 53:38-41). There is a second report in the literature of Spotted Redshank that has not been reviewed, but this is a second-hand one not in a refereed journal -- one seen at Pea Island on 23 May 1955 (Hall and Clement 1960). Some description was provided for the latter bird.
